Mini Canon Law Blurb

This blog is primarily a venue for opinion. Unless directly quoted from an authoritative source, content presented here should not necessarily be interpreted as accurately reflecting Catholic teaching. We earnestly seek to conform, in thought, action, and blog to the magisterium, but being lay persons with only very humble trainings, it is possible that we will make mistakes. While we attempt to make correct interpretations, but we defer all judgments regarding the correctness of our judgments to a competant ecclesiastical authority. Any perceived conflict between our words and actual Church teaching (although not necessarily the "spirit" of a document, nor the extra-magisterial interpretations of a teaching) should be resolved by the reader in favor of the Church teaching. We're college students, not the pope. And because neither of us is His Holiness, we should note that when our "blogging" touches upon the person or action of a member of the clergy, it is our intent to do so in compliance with Canon 212ยง3, which reads, in part:
[People] have the right also to make their views known to others
of Christ's faithful, but in doing so they must always respect the integrity of
faith and morals, show due reverence to the Pastors and take into account both
the common good and the dignity of individuals.
So, bottom line, we're not denying any person in the apostolic succession his legitimate authority, nor attempting to degrade him in an immoral fashion. We're simply attempting to give glory to God through our writing.
