First Sunday of Lent

Sacrificium quadragesimalis initii solemniter ommolamus, te, Domine, deprecantes: ut, cum epularum restrictione carnalium, a noxiis quoque voluptatibs temperemus. Per Dominum, per ómnia sæcula sæculórum, Amen.

We solemnly offer the sacrifice at the beginning of Lent, beseeching Thee, O Lord, that, while we restrict ourselves in the use of bodily food, we may also refrain from indulgence in harmful pleasures. Through our Lord, world without end, Amen.
