Dr. Peters on Bishop Bruskewitz and the Review Board

I think most of us were rooting for Bishop Bruskewitz when he kicked back against the call of National Review Board for the Protection of Children and Young People for "strong fraternal correction" of his diocese.

Unfortunately, it looks like canon law--due to the Charter, for all its failings, constituting "particular law"--might be on the the side of the Review Board. Very interesting stuff.

Greetings,

With tomorrow being the one-year anniversary of the death of our beloved John Paul, I was hoping you would visit a recent post on Pope John Paul on my blog, Part IV in my series. I would really like for you to leave your memories of John Paul there so that I can have a collection of other peoples' memories of him.

Yeah? And what are they going to do to His Excellency, send him to Canon Jail? The supreme law is the salvation of souls. That review board is filled with anti-Catholics who would love to throw more mud on the Church. His Excellency stopped all that noise real quick.

I think he'd rather deal with the whinings some today than have to say, "Well Lord, according to Canon Law" at the end of days.
