John Paul II

I don't know whether to ask "Has it been a year already?" or "has it only been a year?" John Paul II defined the Church for my entire life, and yet it seems so much has occurred in the past year as to make it seem much longer. But for many of us, though Popes may come and go, we'll always remember John Paul. For whatever shortcomings he may have had, he was our Pope -- the only Pope we had ever known, the man who stood at the head of the Church Militant when we grew to know what it is.

O prince of Christ who hath received thine reward, pray for us.

My heart fills so with affection for this man--who was so full of majesty for me when he as Papa--but now, in death--I look into his sweet face and remember him as "Little Lolek"

Bless us with the heart of a Child, like JPII when he contemplated the Blessed Mother.

I love the picture, thank you.
