How can that many people be that stupid?

Oh wait, this is Memphis we're talking about. Now, I know that 81% of Shelby County voters is a pretty impressive majority, but that doesn't mean that they know what's going on. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have term limits as a philosophical proposition, but consider Article VII, Section 1 of the Tennessee Constitution:
The qualified voters of each county shall elect for terms of four years a legislative body, a county executive, a Sheriff, a Trustee, a Register, a County Clerk and an Assessor of Property. Their qualifications and duties shall be prescribed by the General Assembly.

Now, sorry, but a term limit is a "qualification" for office -- the US Supreme Court said that in a case I'm not going to look up right now. If the Constitution lists qualifications, or says one group is going to set them, some other group can't go adding others, cause it's not empowered to. That's not too hard, is it?

On a similar note, this guy calls himself a Republican? I guess egging his house when I get home would be uncharitable. But running him out of the party on a rail sounds reasonable. We don't have an income tax, and we don't want one. Keep your socialism to yourself.
